I purchased a home insurance policy from 1st AMerican last year. They sent a technician to checkout the A/C during August. I believe they foundout that there was something major wrong with the unit so they decided to start hiding from me. Its almost 6 months and they have not submitted their report.

Now they are telling me that they have fired the sevice company and they have no access to the records. What these companies want to do is to steel your money and pay their executives 10-20 million dollars per year. The govt does not care so these guys are becoming more and more bold to steel more and more money.

The only choice I have now is to sue them and take my portion of their executive salary back from them.

They have no problem with anything when they sell you the policy but when you file a claim, they start using the terms linke pre-existing condition, unqualified person repaired your unit or home owner's negligense etc etc.

As far as I am concerned, DO NOT TRUST 1st American

Home owner warranty is for ten years and only covers major structure.
What you are looking for is American Shield which covers all appliances, ac and water heater.
Of course if you are talking about previous work done on the ac, when the warranty is only as good as the company that does the maintenance.
References :
The previous home owner was well aware of the condition of the a/c.
As to who is going to pay for it,the seller was off the hook the minute it was sold, home warranty use the cheapest hands possible and only do half cheap repairs but probably won't replace,so you will ultimately will have to foot the bill for a change out.Get a Goodman. They have a good warranty and are very reasonably priced.Good luck.
References :
i think they'll fix it.
you need to check your home warranty to see if it's covered.
presumably it has been working.
if that's not the case, then it's a different story.
see if they're listed in the BBB.
if they are, and they continue to complain, then complain to the BBB.

you might also go back and ask your realtor.
they should be able to help you also.
i might to that first.
